New Skin Technology Offers Patients Facial Rejuvination Without Invasive Cosmetic Surgery

For patients interested in tightening facial and abdominal skin without the discomfort and downtime associated with invasive plastic surgery procedures like facelift and tummy tuck, The Robert Zubowski MD Center for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Paramus, New Jersey is pleased to introduce the new Sciton SkinTyte skin firming and tightening procedure.

This new revolutionary, non surgical skin tightening treatment that increases skin firmness – without invasive cosmetic surgery — is now available at our office.

Sciton SkinTyte, thermally targets dermal regions in the skin, initiating the body’s natural healing process and prompting the production of collagen. It’s very effective for areas of the body where gravity and age have taken a toll and is most commonly used to treat loose, sagging skin on the abdomen, jowls and neck. With minimal down time and discomfort, this skin firming treatment is ideal for anyone seeking a less invasive (and more cost-effective) way to tighten loose skin along the neck, jaw line, and stomach.

SkinTyte not only activates collagen during the procedure but, as the body continues to heal, collagen continues to be produced and skin becomes progressively firmer.

If you are interested in learning more, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

NEW SURGICAL DEVICE REVOLUTIONIZES FACE LIFTS, ABDOMINOPLASTY AND BREAST REDUCTION SURGERY

More than one hundred thousand women undergo face lift, abdominoplasty, and breast reduction surgery each year. And while the temporary discomforts of a procedure have long been the price to pay for beauty, new cutting-edge technology, now available at our center, is changing all of that.

The new surgical device is called the PlasmaBlade. It not only causes less bleeding by 60 percent, but patients have fewer bruises and less discomfort. The Robert Zubowski MD Center for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is one of the few plastic surgery centers in New Jersey to use this innovative surgical device.

Our patients are experiencing less swelling and bruising than those patients who underwent a traditional facelift, abdominoplasty, and breast reduction — and better outcomes overall.

If anyone is interested in learning more about the PlasmaBlade, I would be happy to answer any of your questions, right here in the comment section of our blog.

COSMETIC SURGERY EXPECTS A LIFT FROM BOOMERS

Call it another legacy of the baby boomer generation. Cosmetic surgery is surging. People are lining up for laser surgery to make their skin look younger, Botox injections to eliminate crow’s feet, breast enhancements and reductions for aesthetic and health reasons and liposuction to eliminate unwanted body mass.

The baby boomer generation is young at heart, more active and involved, and they want their faces and bodies to reflect this youthfulness. So they are undergoing plastic surgery in record numbers – for a variety of reasons.

A recent study by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons shows that many are turning to plastic surgery to gain a competitive advantage in the workplace. The most popular procedures are (relatively) low-cost, noninvasive and have the added benefit of reduced recovery times that won’t keep patients away from work so long that their jobs are on the line. Though the popularity of procedures varies by age, what follows are definitions for some of the most common cosmetic surgery treatments:

Botox

The No. 1 noninvasive procedure for patients 30 and older, Botox is a botulinum toxin that is injected into wrinkles, lines and creases in the face or neck to reduce their appearance. The toxin works by blocking nerve impulses, temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles, to give the skin a smoother appearance.

Chemical Peel

Phenol, trichloroacetic acid or alpha hydroxy acid is applied to the face to remove the skin’s damaged outer layers and smooth the uneven textures caused by blemishes, wrinkles and variances in pigmentation.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

This treatment directs the light from a laser onto wrinkled, sun-damaged and stretch-marked skin to improve the skin’s appearance. Its use has shown the highest increase among noninvasive cosmetic procedures for men and women since 2005.

Hyaluronic Acid

An injectable filler, hyaluronic acid products such as Restylane and Juvederm are used to soften skin folds and reduce wrinkles, smile lines and crow’s feet. The treatment lasts about six months.

Liposuction

Although this is definitely invasive, it is the most popular surgical procedure for people ages 20 to 59. Liposuction, a.k.a. lipoplasty, is used to slim and reshape body areas by removing excess fat deposits.

SEPTEMBER: IDEAL TIME TOR AESTHETIC IMPROVEMENT

Here in New Jersey at the Robert Zubowski, MD Center for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Paramus we’ve noticed a growing trend. Maybe it’s prompted by your children’s back to school preparations, but in mothers of all ages, September seems to trigger an expression for self-improvement like enrolling in local college courses, joining a health club, or looking into physical improvement through aesthetic rejuvenation treatments. Many of us have decided it’s high time to do more than talk about what we would like to change about our face and/or body.

What people find beautiful about themselves, according to the American Society or Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, changes with age. Their recent survey indicates that in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, people seek a fit, well proportioned body, while those in their 50s and 60s really want youthful skin. When considering which part of their body concerned them most, survey takers in their 30s named their abdomen/hips. And the most popular choice of 20-somethings, surprisingly, as well as those in their 40s, 50s and 60s, was the face.

At Paramus NJ’s Robert Zubowski, MD Center for Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, we offer patients numerous aesthetic options, ranging from non-invasive treatments such as Botox®, injectable fillers, and skin treatments, to more aggressive surgery procedures.

An easy way to begin your transformation is by calling the Robert Zubowski MD Center for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery to learn when our next complimentary aesthetic seminar will take place. Our informal breakfast meetings will provide you with an opportunity to meet us, visit our center, and learn more about the protocols we have set in place to assure safe, effective aesthetic results. Since party season is only a few months away there’s no time like now to get started.

“Position Is Everything”

Monte Goldstein, MD

Many people have told me through the years that “position is everything”. Nothing could be truer at the Robert Zubowski, MD Center for Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Paramus New Jersey. Part of the process to ensure the ideal operating environment for Dr. Zubowski is planning what postion patients will be placed in for their procedures. It is a common misconception that all surgeries are performed while patients are lying flat on the operating room table. In fact, although they start off that way, many patients are turned during surgery to various positions, ensuring Dr. Zubowski a perfect operating field. This may occur many times during the procedure. At the Robert Zubowski Center, we work as a closely bonded team that knows exactly what Dr. Zubowski needs to obtain the optimal results. This is done with strict attention to detail, ensuring patient safety. It is no small task.
