Bergen County, New Jersey - Serving Your Rhinoplasty (Nose Surgery) Needs

Rhinoplasty, commonly referred to as a nose job, is the most popular plastic surgery procedures performed at Dr. Robert Zubowski’s office. At our center, undergoing rhinoplasty can alter a nose with a humped or hooked appearance, change the size of the nose or just nostrils, and alter the tip, bridge, slope, or angle of the nose. While the procedure is most often performed for cosmetic purposes, rhinoplasty can also be used to improve breathing, reduce snoring, alter a birth defect, or help heal or conceal an injury.

The Rhinoplasty Procedure

The majority of rhinoplasty procedures require the skin of the nose to be cut and lifted away from the bone and cartilage framework beneath, then shaped and sculpted as the surgeon feels fit. To complete the nose surgery, the skin is re-draped over the nasal framework, and a splint is applied to help the nose maintain its new form. Following rhinoplasty procedures, Dr. Zubowski will sometimes places nasal packs or soft splints into the nostrils to create additional stability.

If you are interested in nose surgery, we invite you to schedule a rhinoplasty consultation with Dr. Robert Zubowski. As a skilled plastic surgeon, he can recommend the best course of treatment to help you achieve your cosmetic goals.

Rhinoplasty Recovery

Bruising, swelling, and minor discomfort of the nose can be expected immediately following a rhinoplasty procedure. However, Dr. Zubowski will prescribe medication to help alleviate these side effects, while using cold compresses will further alleviate the discomfort and reduce swelling. Splints, packing, and stitches will be removed about a week after the procedure, at which point the patient may resume normal and moderate activities. The majority of any visible swelling and bruising will usually disappear within two weeks. Strenuous physical activities may be resumed within a few months of the rhinoplasty procedure.

If you are curious about ways to enhance your appearance, rhinoplasty may be the answer. Contact Dr. Zubowski’s Bergen County office for your nose surgery consultation today.
