Specific Post Operative Instructions – Neck Lift

• Neck Sling:  Wearing a neck garment puts pressure on the operative area and reduces swelling.  You may remove it at any time.  Do not wear it too tightly!  Loosen or remove a garment if it causes pain.

• Position: Keeping the head elevated will reduce swelling and discomfort.

• Sutures: Dr. Zubowski will remove sutures within 4 to 7 days after surgery.

• Excessive Swelling: A little swelling following surgery is normal.  If excessive swelling occurs, please call the office immediately.

• Firmness Under Skin: The skin of the neck may feel hard or even lumpy for up to several months after surgery.  Gentle massage and time are usually sufficient for this problem to resolve.
